There have been times where, financially, I could not afford to take my family out. HopeKids has allowed us to get out together and explore so many different things that we have never seen or been to before. When I’m at an event, all the people are so friendly and respectful.” - Laurience, Christa and Christine’s Mom4 8 10 11 Featured StoryFeatured Story volunteers share why they support HopeKids Event HighlightsEvent Highlights HopeKids parents share their experiences 2019 Year In Review2019 Year In Review your impact through program statistics Fundraising EventsFundraising Events a recap of the most recent4 Miche lle D., Co lor ad o THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS to the who donated 7,506 HOURS in 2019 to families who have a medical condition child with a life-threatening5 Miche lle D., Co lor ad o Our VolunteersHopeKids volunteers, otherwise known as the HopeCrew, donate their time, talents and heart to serving families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition. We couldn’t provide over 2,300 events each year without their dedication! Read about their experiences below. Bre nda B., Arizon a “I support HopeKids because I want our Arizona families who live day- to-day with a child with a life-threatening illness to know that there is hope, there is a bright spot and there are people who care. We host HopeDay each year to allow these families one day of all-out fun without having to worry about how to pay for it or how to include all family members. We give them this day to just be a family and to create lasting memories. It is one of the most special days we as a Notre Dame Prep community spend in service to others.” “I started volunteering because my family knows a HopeKids family. We heard their story and how much HopeKids supported them and I wanted to give back in whatever way possible. I love helping and wish I could help more. There’s something about the families’ smiles and happiness that minimizes everything else going on at the moment. I only hope that I can be half as courageous as they are. It feels like selfish giving, and I swear some days they help me more than I help them. ” St ep han ie S., North Texas “I support HopeKids because I believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joys life has to offer. HopeKids is an amazing organization that allows families to come together and enjoy a variety of fun activities in a supportive social environment. I have seen how an environment full of positivity, encouragement and good times can provide hope for the families. I will continue to offer my support as a proud member of this community.” 6 “I support HopeKids because of the positive impact it has had on my everyday life. I have met so many amazing families that have became some of my closest friends. The joy of getting to see kids getting to try new experiences is rewarding enough but my favorite part is the relationships I’ve built with the families as a whole.” - Caitlin “I support HopeKids because of the positive impact and joy that is brought to families’ lives through all the events. I’m fortunate to be able to see and take part in all the fun that is had and made possible for everyone involved! HopeKids has changed my life and I am so happy I got involved!” - Dalton “I support HopeKids because of their commitment to improving the lives of children and their families going through challenging medical treatments. It is an honor to be a part of creating moments of joy for a community of people who are so eager to smile in the face of their personal crisis. These families know how to savor the small moments of happiness, thankful for all we do as if we are the ones going through so much to support them.” “I support HopeKids because I love the mission, but even more I love the smiles on the kids faces whenever they’re at an event. Life can be pretty tough for these families, so to see them so carefree warms my heart. I love helping to facilitate happy memories for the entire family. For a few hours, these families don’t have to worry about anything and they can just be present in the moment. Anything HopeKids can do to make their lives just a bit easier, there’s no question that I’m in.” Caitlin & Dalton B., Kansa s City Glo ria O., North Texas Kri ste n L., Kansa s City Maxim Healthcare Service s, Mid dle Ten ne ss ee Miche lle E., Middle Tennes see7 “It’s so great to be around people that just want to love and to be loved.” “Maxim Healthcare Services supports HopeKids because the mission and values of both organizations complement each other perfectly! HopeKids vision is to restore hope and transform the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions, their families and communities in which they serve. Maxim’s vision is to be the most respected and admired healthcare services organization in the nation. Both having a common goal of serving our communities in need that involves children with life-threatening medical conditions. We strive to give hope and support to those families in any way we can.” “I work at a local children’s hospital so I’m constantly seeing children battling life- threatening medical conditions. I love volunteering for HopeKids because I get to see kids outside of the confines of a hospital doing what kids should be doing; enjoying sporting events, doing arts and crafts, going to the zoo, and just having fun with their families. Now when I’m at work, I’ll sometimes run into a family I’ve met at a HopeKids event. It’s always fun to talk with the HopeKid about the event I met them at or the things I’ve learned about them. I’d like to think it’s a nice distraction for them from their clinic visits. I’m so glad HopeKids came to Nashville and look forward to becoming more involved! ” Caitlin & Dalton B., Kansa s City Kri ste n L., Kansa s City Ma rk M., Minn esota Maxim Healthcare Service s, Mid dle Ten ne ss ee Miche lle E., Middle Tennes seeLUIS, HOPEKIDS SIBLING MICROSOFT STORE CHRISTMAS GAMING NIGHT NORTH TEXAS “We love getting to meet new families that are going through the same situation as us.
