She’s a friend to everyone and gives great hugs! So far, Aurora’s favorite event has been exploring Vertical Endeavors. Her family joined HopeKids in October 2018 and together they’ve attended over 40 events! “HopeKids has been a game changer for our entire family. Even if Aurora is having a rough day, we can still go to events knowing that they are full of acceptance and support. Her siblings have felt special going to events, even if Aurora doesn’t go, and not feel like Aurora always gets the special attention. Maverick got to meet his idol, Karl Anthony Towns, at a private movie screening and he came home beaming that it was ‘the best day of his whole life.’ HopeKids has connected me with people I never would have met and has been instrumental in me reconnecting with Jesus because I’ve discovered that hope comes through people. HopeKids has blessed me with the most amazing support system I could ever imagine. - Lindsay, Aurora’s momBUILDING HOPE FROM THE GROUND UP Robert Thomas Homes just completed the third “House that Hope Built.” The first two homes raised a combined $800,000 for HopeKids Minnesota. Tradition Companies will again donate the net proceeds from the sale of this beautiful home pushing that number over $1 million combined. We are all passionate about HopeKids. You can see the impact by talking to the families. [As an organization we] were trying to think of ways we could do more for HopeKids. The HopeK Walk & Run was great and we raised a fair amount of money each year. We thought that building a house would be really cool. It was just an idea that sprouted and grew legs. - Jake Enebak, CEO | Tradition Companies “ ”5 The 2015 and 2017 donations allowed HopeKids Minnesota to purchase a 16-person suite at the Xcel Energy Center for four years. The “HopeSuite” (as it’s known) offers a safe and accepting environment for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to meet, connect and enjoy special events. To date, more than 700 families have benefitted by attending events in this suite! Ashley, mother of three HopeKids, shares: “The HopeSuite provides us a way to go out as a family and know that everyone can enjoy themselves. Our son is very difficult to take to activities because of his medical needs and also needs to have his own space. The suite allows most of our family to sit down and watch the Wild game while our son and his PCA hang out further back in the suite.” 2019 Sponsors Title Tradition Companies Robert Thomas Homes Tradition Capital Bank Elander Mechanical Inc. BUILDING IMPACT6 NATHALIA’S FAMILY AT BUTTERFLY PAVILLION IN COLORADO7 HopeKids has given our family the opportunity to just enjoy life and have a short break from the reality of her diagnosis. - Nicole, Nathalia’s mom “ ” RESTORING HOPE in a butterfly garden8 HopeKids gets families out of the house and enjoying life. There are days where you are in a mental fog from all the hospital stays, medicine, bills, sleepless nights, etc. HopeKids really helps take your mind off all of that and helps you really stop and smell the roses with your family. There are activities we have gone to that we would have never been to if it wasn’t for HopeKids. It’s hard to sometimes think outside of the box and do things that are really exciting and new, which is really needed when you have so much going on. - Benita, Ava’s mom “ ” AVA AT THE BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT IN KANSAS CITY RECONNECTING FAMILIES through ongoing events9 HopeKids has allowed my family to restore hope in their hearts and to know that there is so much more than just hospitals. We have had the opportunity to meet amazing people with heart and they have been there with us through the good and strong moments.
