Hunter’s family joined HopeKids in February 2017 and name Relentless as their favorite family event.“The lifters really make the kids feel special and put the spotlight on them. Hunter tells me someday he will be on stage as a lifter and will have a HopeKid of his own. It does my heart good to see that he understands the importance, at his young age, of giving back.” - Lisa, Hunter’s mom2017201834Relentless Strong Men and Women, Stronger KidsDallas RoughnecksThe “Ultimate” Friendship7Golf for Hope2018 HopeKids Golf Classic Recap8K2 Adventures FoundationProviding More Than Adventure22PRESENTED BY:“It’s just the family we get when we are there. They are lifting to do their best, it’s kind of a team.” - Paula, Ben’s momRELENTLESS POWERLIFTING:UNITING STRONG MEN AND WOMEN WITH EVEN STRONGER CHILDREN IMAGES BY: MARIO REDLEGS“If there is anything I would say about Relentless, if it’s an option- come experience it. It’s truly a life-saving and amazing event. It was made to give hope to the kids but it does it for the lifters as well. There is so much joy and happiness.” - Jeff Frank, Powerlifter“Relentless was a big game changer because sitting in that hospital room those first few days she had no desire to do anything. Once we reminded her about all the lifters, it gave her hope, and it got her through it. Her social worker said she went from being depressed to the point where they were getting psych involved to where she doesn’t need to be here anymore.” - Laurie Kabes, Talitha’s momRelentless is a two-day, invitation-only powerlifting meet created to build relationships, change lives, and serve God by uniting strong men and women with even stronger children. Since 2012, the event has raised more than $1.1 million for HopeKids and helped open three new chapters with a fourth chapter in the planning phase for 2019. Each year, 160 lifters raise money while about 100 of those lifters also choose to participate in “Team Hope” to help raise spirits. As part of “Team Hope,” they are paired with a HopeKids family to lift in their honor, build a relationship, and inevitably gain inspiration from each others’ strength. The event has helped hundreds of families stay focused on the future through building a strong community.“At our kickoff event, Mark rolled up in his wheel chair, burned out 69 reps of 225lbs. And here’s Ben, a preteen, who sees this and says ‘wait a minute. If he can do that, there’s nothing I can’t .”WWW.RELENTLESSPOWERLIFTING.COM“Team Hope is the cornerstone and heart of our mission. It’s the best part of Relentless. Without money the mission doesn’t happen but money isn’t hope. Money doesn’t change lives. It’s the relationships that do that. There is no substitute for these relationships. This is the life-altering, life-changing relationships.” - Scott Nutter, Meet Director6“There’s no better cause than to put your time and effort into helping families going through tremendous difficult times. It’s a lifeline to these families on a continued basis, which helps them connect and not feel alone.” - Heather, donor“We’ve done fundraising for other organizations where $1000 is like a drop in a bucket, but $1000 to HopeKids is a movie for 400 people. At HopeKids events, you can see the looks on the kids’ faces, and the looks on the parents’ faces. As a donor, the event you helped provide may end up being a child’s favorite. Or it may be the last event a child enjoys before a long hospital stay.”- Jolyn, donor “Knowing that [your donation] provides hope to the families —there’s no better way to spend that money.” -Harmony, donor16% of HopeKids cash revenueis generated thanks to the generosity of foundations, churches and service organizations.44% of HopeKids cash revenueis generated thanks to the generosity of individual donors.40% of HopeKids cash revenueis generated thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors.Revenue Sourcesof our total revenue is used directly for program expenses to provide ongoing events, activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition. 87% On average across all HopeKids chapters, it costs just $30/month to provide an unlimited calendar of events for one family for an entire year. It’s important to us as well. That’s why we believe in operating with the utmost integrity and transparency in all financial matters as evidenced by our accreditations listed at the bottom. In fact, you can find our latest annual report, audit and Form 990 right on our website. However, we know all those forms can be a little difficult to quickly understand exactly where HopeKids revenue comes from and where it goes. Therefore, we created this at-a-glance roadmap to make it easier. 7Dallas Roughnecksthe “ultimate” friendship Since 2016, the Dallas Roughnecks, an ultimate frisbee team, have generously supported HopeKids North Texas and worked to build relationships with HopeKids families at over 60 games. As the players are announced, HopeKids are invited to run onto the field with the team and then cheer them on from the stands. We are so grateful for the Roughnecks and the opportunity to form “ultimate” friendships between players and HopeKids families, alike. “After the hard-played games in Texas heat, the players are always so pleased to see the kids. They even play with them when they are surely exhausted and never seem like they want to be anywhere else but with those kids. I look forward to the interactions before and after the game with the players and my sons just as much as I look forward to the games themselves. It is clear that the Dallas Roughnecks are “all in” for HopeKids. They have gained a family of fans for life.”- Vicki, Sim’s momPhotos by: Daniel Thai, Ulti Photos“HopeKids gives us the opportunity to create lasting relationships with some of the strongest families ever. Many players cite our partnership with HopeKids as their favorite thing about being on our team. It is such a joy to know the HopeKids families, organizers, and supporters. I feel very grateful for having such a direct role with them.”-Reid Bacon, PlayerMEET WilEy Wiley is an outgoing 3-year-old who loves trains. In four hours, their talented stylists provided 73 haircuts to families, sending everyone back to school in style. In addition, they provided mini-manicures, hair tinsel, and temporary hair dye for the adventurous kids. Laughter filled the salon as stylists pampered families. Thank you, Salon 925, for being a cut above the rest.“Being able to get our haircut by a skilled artist was such a delightful treat. When you battle chronic illness day in and day out, being nurtured is a balm to the heart. It was uplifting to the whole family to be doted on and encouraged while doing something that so many other families do without a second thought. HopeKids allows us to experience outings that would otherwise be cost prohibitive or too complicated to tackle on our own.”– Andi, Charlotte’s momMEET RoWanRowan is 5 years old and loves to learn.
